Coronavirus and Mental Health

A webinar on the mental health effects of coronavirus and social isolation on people with disabilities and their families

Wednesday, April 1
2-4 p.m.
by Zoom

Please note: only the first 500 people will be able to join.

Staying at home and physical distancing are critical tools to slow the spread of the coronavirus. But they may create feelings of isolation and fear, which can have negative effects on mental health. While this can impact anyone, people with disabilities and their families are particularly vulnerable as their needs are often greater and their circles of support are smaller. This webinar for people with disabilities, family members, and others who serve this community, will focus on how to take care of your mental health during this difficult time.

Presenters include:

  • Dr. Ben Russell, Clinical Psychologist, Real Connections Institute
  • Héctor Manuel Ramírez, Self-Advocate, Behavioral Health Task Force, California Health and Human Services Agency
  • Allison Worthy Buchner, Parent
  • Emma Erenmark, Sibling
  • Nina Patel, Managing Director, Friendship Foundation
  • Moderated by Judy Mark, Parent and President, Disability Voices United

No RSVP needed. Questions will be asked only through Zoom chat.
