hello,  going through the self determination orientation. would like to know how to receive free independent facilitator training. Also, During this orientation, I’ve been informed that if someone is a IHSS/PA  worker for their child can not also be a IF. I feel this is wrong! I do about 4 to 5 zoom a month for my William and constantly researching opportunities for him and with him 24hrs a day.  Also I do  research, organizing my Williams needs to be safe, education, advocating and appointments/daily schedule/PA communication/ and regional center communication. I feel DDS should not be concerned about a IHSS worker/PA doing what they call “double dipping”. IHSS workers are not with consumer 24hrs a day and if they are they are not paid 24hrs a day for care. also Personal Assistant staff are not allowed to work over 8 hours a day. so ihss and pa staff should be allowed to be a IF. IF know consumer well and are involved in the person centered planning. please call 626 607 5029
