Sameeha Ahmed is an intern at Disability Voices United and a third-year undergraduate studying Cognitive Science, Public Health, and Disability Studies at the University of California, Berkeley. She brings experience as a national student leader with the American Cancer Society, a research assistant in developmental psychology and education policy, and a strategy consultant for nonprofit organizations serving underserved communities. Previously, she has interned with the International Rescue Committee and a California State Assemblymember’s office.

At DVU, Sameeha is excited to support work on Supported Decision-Making, resource development, and family empowerment. Her lived and professional experiences continue to shape her deep commitment to centering self-advocate voices and building more inclusive systems that prioritize disability justice. She hopes to pursue further study and a career built around improving systems of care for underserved youth and their families, especially those with with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

Outside of work, Sameeha enjoys running, writing, true crime mystery novels, and spending time in nature with her little brother. She grew up in the Bay Area, CA and now calls Berkeley home.
