Self-direction is now available in all 50 states and serves more than 1.5 million people, but no two programs look exactly alike. Join Molly Morris from the Self-Direction Center for an overview of how self-direction has evolved across the country, from its roots in California to the research that supported its growth and the changes that expanded access during the COVID-19 pandemic. The discussion will examine how different states have designed their programs, who they serve, including people with developmental disabilities, older adults, and veterans, and what California’s SDP can learn from other approaches.
