Kristin Wright is the Executive Director of Inclusive Practices and Systems at the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE), where she works to create more inclusive, equitable, and welcoming educational opportunities for students with disabilities. Prior to joining SCOE, Kristin served as California’s State Director of Special Education at the California Department of Education and as Education Policy Advisor to the CA State Board of Education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, a master’s degree in Education, and a Special Education Teaching Credential.
Kristin’s work is deeply personal. As the parent of an adult daughter with intellectual and physical disabilities, she is passionate about challenging systemic ableism and partnering with families, educators, and systems to create greater equity, inclusion, and belonging for people with disabilities. In her current role at SCOE, Kristin also serves as Co-Director of the California Center for Inclusive College, a new state-funded initiative focused on expanding inclusive college opportunities across California colleges and universities for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
