Special Event: CA Prop 50. Why It’s Important for the Disability Community. Congress and President Trump recently cut $1 trillion from Medicaid, which endangers disabled people’s health care (Medi-Cal) and services (regional center and IHSS). Disabled people will be hurt by these cuts. The states of Texas and Missouri just manipulated their Congressional districts to keep this Congress in power. This Congress harms disabled people. California is fighting back with Proposition 50, which temporarily changes California’s districts so that we can elect a Congress that helps disabled people.
