Sarah is a songwriter and poet with cerebral palsy and a 35-year-old non-speaking person with physical disabilities, but these labels do not define her. These labels represent parts of her, yet often cause her fellow human beings to overlook and belittle her presence. By using AAC to create music and advocate for her health treatment and legal rights for the past 20 years, Sarah brings awareness to her consciousness, competence, and abilities. Communication is respected if you offer the space to listen with humble patience and compassionate presence. Sarah believes that by listening to and connecting with each other, we can transform society.
